Hi!



I'm Brittany from Galveston, TX and I am a sophomore here at TCU. I'm majoring in Broadcast Journalism and minoring in Business. On campus I'm involved in TCU YoungLife, SGA programming council, and I work part time at Frog Calls where we call alumni, and parents (that'd be yours) to ask for donations towards the TCU annual fund. Yes, I am that annoying person who calls during dinner, but I promise it's for a good cause! I am taking English 20503, for my core requirements, but I do love English! It has always been my favorite subject, and I read for pleasure when I have time. I love everything about TCU, which is why it was my first choice when I was applying for schools. I used to come to Fort Worth during the summers when I was younger, with my friend, to visit her grandparents. Her Grandma worked at TCU and we would come to work with her and I fell in love. I got accepted to UT and other great schools, but I knew where I belonged. If I were chancellor I would try to make the overall cost of attending this school cheaper. I'm not really sure he has that power, but we'll just pretend he does. The best teachers I have ever had were the ones who listened and acknowledged the needs of their students. I think what makes a good student is having respect for their teacher and how he/she conducts their lessons. If I could have dinner with any three people I would have to choose Jesus (obvious reasons,) Oprah (because she has the best job ever, and I would not mind taking over her spot when she resigns,) and Obama ( to try and talk him out of this ridiculous health care plan he wants to implement.) Three things I want people to know about me are: I am putting myself through school completely on my own (don't ask me why I chose the second most expensive school in the state,) I have been dating the same guy for six years (since we were in eighth grade,) and I managed a Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop for four summers in a row! Three random things I would like to know about my classmates are: Who is your favorite celebrity? What was your favorite vacation? and what is the nicest thing you've ever done for someone else? I chose this blog template because I like the color green. I was trying to download something a little more fancy and creative, but for some reason it's not working, so I'll just have to hold off on the cool stuff until I get used to blogging.
